Authenticity in Marketing for Spiritual Entrepreneurs: Fine-Tuning Your Brand's Frequency
Hello, fellow healers, light workers and way-showers!
My name is Leslee - I'm an intuitive graphic designer, a certified Quantum Journeys Hypnotherapist, a mom, wife and a farmer in western North Carolina, and my mission is to support other female spiritual entrepreneurs in discovering their most authentic and empowered brand essence.
Today, we're diving deep into a topic that's near and dear to my heart: authenticity in marketing. So grab a cup of tea, light a candle, and get comfy...because I'm going to lay out step-by-step what I do with my marketing clients to craft a brand identity that resonates at a soul-level, and connects you with an audience that's in alignment with your passion and purpose.
Ready? Let's go!
The Power of Authenticity in Spiritual Marketing
If you know, you know. In the world of spiritual entrepreneurship, authenticity isn't just a played-out buzzword - it's the very foundation of who we are. As healers and light workers, we didn't get into business just to make a few bucks. Most of us feel a higher purpose in this world, fueled by a burning desire to be of service, make a profound impact in others' lives, help individuals remember their limitless potential, and reclaim our divine connection to source. (whoo, I'm feeling some serious Law of One vibes right now, and I love it!).
When someone is in their truth, it typically means that they've been through experiences that gave them a very clear understanding of who they are, and they embrace the entirety of themselves without judgement, shame, or condemnation. That, my friends, is what authenticity is all about - loving ourselves fully, showing up in our realness, and allowing others to show up in their realest realness too.
🤔Did you know that authenticity is the highest vibrational frequency? - even higher than emotional states like joy and love? If that interests you, read more in this article by spiritual coach, Nina Amir.
Personal authenticity is powerful, and requires some serious vulnerability. So it goes without saying that authenticity in your marketing requires this too - but what does that look like in your business?
For my clients, authenticity looks something like: weaving your deepest held personal values into your brand, being honest and clear in your messaging, actively listening to your clients' feedback, having a tailor-made approach to offerings, displaying transparent pricing, or hosting candid Q&A sessions over live chat.
It's also about creating genuine connections with your audience, which means saying goodbye to traditional marketing strategies like pushy sales tactics, harping on pain points, fear-mongering or emotional manipulation.

So, let's break it down so we can understand exactly how this all works...
Understanding Brand Frequency Alignment
Let's talk about something that may have sounded a bit woo-woo to people like me who came from the corporate marketing world — brand frequency alignment.
In the spiritual and metaphysical worlds, we often talk about energy, frequency and vibration.
Energetic frequency refers to the vibrational state or quality of a person, object, or thought. (Think sacred geometry or BioGeometry). This concept is rooted in the belief that everything in the universe, including thoughts and emotions, has a unique vibrational frequency that interacts with the broader energetic field of the universe.
Brand frequency alignment is about ensuring that the energy your business emits embodies your unique frequency and resonates with your ideal clients. Anyone who understands The Secret or manifestation techniques gets it - when your brand's frequency is aligned and harmonized, you naturally attract the right people, circumstances, and opportunities into your life. It's like having a magnetic field that draws in those who are meant to work with you.
The Evidence Behind the Woo
I know some of you might be thinking, "That all sounds great - but is this for real?" Well, there's growing research that supports these concepts.
For instance, neuroscience is exploring the concept of spiritual intelligence, which can be measured neurologically. This suggests there might be a scientific basis for understanding how spiritual experiences influence our cognitive and emotional states.
🤔If this piques your fancy, check out this article from 3Q Institute about recent findings in neuroscience.
Furthermore, the concept of vibrational frequencies in relation to human health and consciousness offers an interesting perspective - the resonance theory of consciousness suggests that synchronized vibrations might be fundamental to consciousness.
😎Cool huh? Read about the vibrational frequencies of the human body in this article from ResearchGate.
This hints at the power of being in alignment with our highest expression of truth - where your business practices resonate with the essence of who you are, your core beliefs, deeply held values, soul's passion and higher purpose.
But you wanna know what the biggest piece of evidence is? You may have guessed - our own personal and professional experiences. We've all had those moments of flow, where everything starts to come together and we get out of our own way and things just HAPPEN. I see it every day with the clients I work with who actively fine-tune their brand frequency and put their passions and purpose to work for them. This stuff is as real as it gets, and will make huge shifts in your business and and professional life.
What does Aligned Marketing Look Like?
So what qualities might you see in a brand that is focused on authenticity when marketing their brand? Here are some examples - and you may want to jot these down because they're the same important foundational concepts I work with my clients on, and they'll help you fully understand your own marketing energy:
So what does a brand look like when they are energetically aligned with their own authenticity?
- Genuine Presentation: An authenticity-led brand is genuine in all marketing efforts. This means presenting oneself and one’s offerings truthfully, clearly, and honestly - ensuring that the messaging aligns with the core values of the business.
- Value Exchange: The business believes and supports the importance of a balanced exchange of value. Meaning that both the entrepreneur and the customer should feel that they are receiving something meaningful from the transaction, fostering a sense of mutual respect and appreciation.
- Purpose-Driven Marketing: Their core mission and deeper purpose is evident in their marketing messaging. Marketing should reflect the true intentions behind the business ("the why" as Simon Sinek would say), which often involves disseminating wisdom, supporting personal growth, and valuing the client's unique journey.
- Community Engagement: The brand focuses on creating real connections with their customers and fosters a sense of belonging, safety and support.
- Integrity in Offerings: Finally, the brand shows integrity in what is offered. This means ensuring that products and services are of high quality, truly beneficial to customers, and honestly and clearly presented.
Okay so, here's where the rubber meets the road.
How can we put this concept of aligned marketing into practice? Here are a few steps you can take towards crafting a marketing strategy that aligns with your brand's authentic frequency:
👉First thing's first - define your niche and audience. Chances are, you've probably heard this one before!
What are you doing? Who are you serving? What is your passionate mission?
We must start with our "why" and look deeply at what is driving our mission to serve. So focus on the specific niche that truly resonates with your gifts, purpose and passions. It might take you a little while to refine - and like me, maybe you'll go through a few rounds of refinement - but knowing exactly who you aim to serve and the valuable transformation you want to provide is absolutely key.
Trust me - I was a niche-doubter myself at one time, but this has been absolutely pivotal for my clients and my own spiritual brand. Think of yourself like a radio antenna - get clear with your broadcast signal so that potential clients can "tune-in" to you.
👉Secondly, you must share your story. Don't be afraid to get personal - this is how meaningful connections are made! Sharing our own experiences and spiritual journey can create a powerful connection with our audience. And as my intuitive friend Holly Hughes would say...it's not about being perfect; it's about being real AF.
For some of us, this may require stepping out of imposter syndrome and self-doubt, which can be challenging. Just start small - share with your audience in a way that feels safe and comfortable for you.
💚Hey, friend. Listen...we all have underlying subconscious beliefs that hold us back from our full potential - it's just part of this human experience. So it's important to release those blocks, or else you'll find yourself back in doubt, limitation, and lack (which is not a productive frequency to be in, professionally nor personally). Meditation, Hypnosis, and Shadow Work are game-changers in this department, and will help you get past your personal narrative and into your most powerful self.
👉This goes right along with the above...but you have to let go of the need for perfection. Your audience is actually more interested in your wisdom, authenticity, sense of humor, real perspectives, personal insights and personality - much more so than some picture-perfect Instagram posts.
I see entrepreneurs every day that hold themself back because they perceive some aspect of their brand as "not good enough" or "not ready". My advice is simple - honor where you're at and just start. The path has to begin for it to lead you to where you're meant to go.
📱Sidenote: TikTok is a great place to see spiritual brands putting this principle into action. You'll find creators who are unfiltered, unedited, and unashamed to share their truth, and it's really refreshing to see.
👉Next, as you start to show up in your most authentic essence, you'll cultivate a valuable online presence. Use your social media and your website to share insights, teachings, and stories that reflect your dedication to serving others. Create a space where your community can take something with them after engaging with you. When we see our online presence as an opportunity to serve, suddenly we we're not so hung up on likes and comments.
👉Then from this empowered place, we align our marketing with our values. So look deeply at your content, graphics, website, logo, color palette, copy....EVERYTHING to ensure that every aspect of your marketing speaks your truth and feels harmonious. It may sound silly, but I often say it's like decorating a bedroom or personal sanctuary - when you see it, you should feel an internal "hell yes".
👉And going even deeper, we must practice intuitive marketing. What does that mean? It looks like trusting your intuition when making decisions and not being pressured by coaches, YouTubers, or strategists who tell you otherwise. If something doesn't feel right, then go with your gut.
In fact, a recent guest on Soul Support - my podcast for spiritual entrepreneurs - removed all client testimonials from her website because it didn't feel good to her. After looking deeply at the marketing strategies she had been taught by "an expert", Sarah Yeoman realized that she didn't want her clients seeking external validation when choosing to work with her. She wanted it to FEEL right for them...and that decision is just what FELT right for Sarah. Now that's an empowered place to be!
So how do we get into feeling what's right for our brand or following our gut? Honestly, it's different for everyone - but you can use practices like meditation, hypnosis, journaling or free-writing to tap into your higher guidance to ensure your marketing is aligned with your truth.
And if you're open to constructive feedback, you can also ask someone who really knows you to interact with your brand assets. And you can also role-play as a client yourself, paying particular attention to anything that feels forced, unnatural, or salesy.
👉Okay, this one might sound challenging at first, but it makes complete sense if you know anything about manifesting, money-mindset or frequency...focus on connection over sales!
If you focus on pushing for sales or on how much money is (or isn't) rolling through the door, then you're amplifying negative frequencies - things like your underlying beliefs around money, lack, and scarcity could be playing against you in a big way.
Instead, focus on building genuine relationships with your audience. When you truly care about your community - and chances are, if you chose this line work, you do - then the right clients will naturally be drawn to your offerings. And they will intuitively know that they are much more to you than a pay day. This is a whole different kind of abundance-frequency, and operating from that space moves you into energetic alignment with wealth and financial success.
👉And now here comes my special sauce - we have to identify and correct misalignment.
Look, even with the best intentions and spiritual practices, you will fall out of alignment with your brand's true frequency. We're human, and there's a lot of external circumstances that throw us off our vibe - fear, doubt, judgement, self-criticism, and the list goes on. But the trick isn't worrying about when you'll step off track, but accepting that it will happen and making a little pivot here and there without throwing yourself into a shame spiral.
Helpful tip here: Allow me to offer a shift in perspective - all steps away from your true frequency are simply opportunities for steps back towards your authentic voice, providing an even deeper vantage point. What a beautiful opportunity to know yourself and your business more intimately!
Personally, I re-evaluate my brand every six months. It gives my business an opportunity to grow and evolve along with me.
Time for a Reality Check!
Okay...so are you sitting there thinking about your own marketing? Good! That's a great place to be.
Now let's look at some signs that may indicate that your marketing needs better alignment:
- Your messaging feels generic, inauthentic or forced
- You're attracting clients who don't resonate with your services
- You're replicating what other brands are doing instead of being inspired
- You frequently feel drained working on your marketing
- There's inconsistency between your brand values and your marketing message
If you notice these signs, don't worry! It's a process and all part of your journey towards something new and greater! (☝Remember? All challenges are opportunities!) So take some time to reconnect with your core values, reassess your ideal client, and take an honest look at your marketing strategies. Remember, growth is a never-ending spiral, so it's okay - and so very important - to evolve and make changes as you grow.
PERSONAL NOTE:
Okay, there's something else that is important to say here. And if you watch my podcast, you will hear this frequently from myself and other spiritual entrepreneurs - coaches need coaching.
Look, we're talking about authenticity here, so let's get totally honest - we don't have it all figured out. Any successful entrepreneur will tell you that they had a mentor or coach to help them get to where they are today. And a lot of that support has to do with resolving underlying limiting beliefs, fear of success, and rewriting your personal narrative.
In fact, you might be surprised to hear that I have my own coach - her name is Cassidy Rose Green and she's a hypnotist like me! She also specializes in mindfulness techniques and supporting empathic soulpreneurs. She's an amazing support when things get real, and helps me release thoughts, emotions or patterns of behavior that hold me back from stepping into my power - together, we've worked on my imposter syndrome, disassociation and other coping mechanisms, my blocks around money and abundance, and she's honestly just really great to talk to about navigating this landscape of soul-led business ownership.
Having someone who could support me with effective tools, practices and strategies was essential in amplifying my authentic voice. And this is exactly what I do in my practice - I support my clients with Quantum Journeys Hypnosis to explore higher realms of consciousness and expanded states of awareness.
When we connect with the multi-dimensional self and the subconscious mind, not only can we communicate with your Higher Self and inner wisdom, but we can also hone in on your deepest passions, most core values, and highest and most limitless aspirations. This paves the path to identifying the frequency of your ideal brand at a depth of true soul resonance.
We will also resolve any limiting beliefs, past traumas, stored emotions, or energetic blocks that might be in the way of your highest expression of you.

The Challenges of Authentic Marketing
Now, I won't sugarcoat it—maintaining authenticity in your marketing while also striving to grow your business can be challenging. And trust me - I should know! I came from the corporate marketing world, and that pressure to conform and resort to traditional tactics is REAL! It took me a while to tune-in to what felt right for me and my brand, and there were plenty of missteps along the way. So if this is you, you're not alone - a lot of us feel pressure to adopt certain marketing "rules" in order to stand out in a crowded landscape, or "compete" with similar brands.
But here's the truth: your authenticity is your superpower. When you stay true to your values and align your marketing with your brand's unique frequency, you'll naturally attract the right clients and opportunities. It might not happen overnight, but trust me, it's worth the journey.
Interesting brain-nugget here: A secondary benefit to finding your authentic brand voice is that you compare your business (and yourself) to others a whole lot less - if at all - and you feel confident in your uniqueness. Next thing you know, you start fine-tuning your frequency in other areas of your life and you find one hell of a groove.
Embracing Your Unique Frequency
As spiritual entrepreneurs, we have a beautiful opportunity to change the face of marketing - because it has never been done this way before. By embracing authenticity, clearly communicating our values, and crafting meaningful energetic exchanges, we can create marketing that not only promotes our businesses but also uplifts and inspires our clients, peers, and community.
Remember, your energy is your most powerful marketing tool. When you show up authentically, share your gifts with love, and trust in the alignment of your brand's frequency, you create a magnetic field that naturally draws in those who are meant to work with you.
So, beautiful souls, I encourage you to take some time to reflect on your marketing approach. Are you truly showing up as your authentic self? Is your brand's frequency aligned with your deepest values and intentions? Trust your intuition, embrace your unique gifts, and watch as your business flourishes in alignment with your highest purpose.
Here's to marketing with authenticity, integrity, and a whole lot of soul!
Love to you always and all ways,
💚Leslee
